Saturday, March 1:Baby Boy Allen is due to enter the world on the 7th of March. In December and February Monica Allen experienced problems and was confined to bed rest. Since the middle of February she has been staying at our Baptist guesthouse in Johannesburg.Pray everything will continue to go well and the birth will take place as scheduled.

Sunday, March 2:Problems have been occurring between the pastor of the Manzini Baptist Church and one who was acting leader while the church was without a pastor. The acting leader has been trying to undermine the leadership of the Pastor.Pray the Manzini Baptist Church will support the work of the pastor. Pray a compromise can be reached that will help all parties to work together.

Monday, March 3: Pray the Lord will provide wisdom and direction for the Oakleys concerning their life and ministry in Swaziland.

Tuesday, March 4:Last month (February 15-25) Michelle Perkins with International True Love Waits ministered alongside Julia Tarr, visiting schools, sharing the abstinence message and planning for regularly return visits and classes.Pray the message of True Love Waits will reach the hearts of the youth in Swaziland. Pray those trained as presenters will take responsibility to teach and share the need for abstinence.

Wednesday, March 5:Vuvulane is an area in the middle of a sugar plantation in the northeast section of Swaziland. The volunteer team from the South Roanoke ministered during February through Bible studies, hut-to-hut visitation, school assemblies and revival meetings.Please pray for this new work and for the Lord to bless the people who come and want to know more about Jesus. Pray for Douglas and Simphiwe Mavuso who have committed to lead this new work. Pray one day a strong Baptist church will be a lighthouse among the lost in the community.

Thursday, March 6:As ministry takes the Swazi Team missionaries to different parts of the country, they come in contact with individuals who are sick and struggling and appear AIDS. Unfortunately, a large percentage of people in Swaziland are HIV positive. Please pray for the many sick and struggling people with AIDS in Swaziland. Pray they will have someone to care for the and if they do not know Jesus as their Savior, pray they will come to know Him before it is too late.

Friday, March 7:Pray for Monica Allen during the birth of Baby Boy Allen today. Pray everything will go well. Pray for Steve and Lacie, too!! :)

Saturday, March 8:The past few months have really taken a toil on the leadership in the Swazi Baptist churches as several leaders have been sent away by family to find work leaving several churches struggling. Pray for missionaries on the Swazi Team as they see a greater need to focus on training for existing churches to help identify and develop new leadership.

Sunday, March 9: The structure stands on top of a hill overlooking the town of Nhlangano. The mosque is new and not only will the Indian businessmen worship there but also some of the Swazi employees that have converted to the Muslim faith. Pray the mosque in Nhlangano will not be a lighthouse to the community. Pray Christians will see the urgency to witness to their loss friends and neighbors.

Monday, March 10:In January the National Youth Committee met to discuss and plan the National Youth Leaders’ Retreat in June as well as preliminary plans for the 2008 National Youth Camp. Pray for this committee as they continue the planning and organizing of these two events.

Tuesday, March 11:Pray the King of Swaziland will hear and understand the gospel Message. Swaziland is a polygamous nation and the King is allowed to take a wife every year. Pray the King’s wives and children will have a chance to hear a clear presentation of the gospel message and believe.

Wednesday, March 12:I accepted the Lord in October 1994. Before I was a Christian I didn’t know I was a sinner. I thought I was perfect. I didn’t fight with others or drink. I saw other people going to church but I didn’t know why they were going. The Baptist missionaries who came to Swaziland helped me change. Through their teaching I came to know I needed Jesus in my life. I learned I was a sinner and I needed Jesus to change me. I asked Him for forgiveness of my sins. I enjoy the weekly Bible study because I can ask questions and hear others talk about Jesus. Before the Baptist, I never had a person talk to me about Jesus or ask me if I were a Christian. Pray all Swazis will have a chance to hear and know about Jesus.

Thursday, March 13:Pray for Trey Oakley today on his birthday!! :)Praise the Lord the Oakleys’ crates arrived from the States last month. Continue to pray for Truman and Rebecca as they balance language learning and home schooling.

Friday, March 14:Pray the youth of our Swazi Baptist churches will seek the Lord’s face and will allow Him to control every area of their lives. Sexual immorality is a constant temptation among Swazi youth and it is also a problem that threatens to destroy the witness of the church in Swaziland. Pray the youth will make a total commitment to the Lord and to sexual purity./span>

Saturday, March 15: In January Steve Allen began TEE (Theological Education by Extension) classes at the Ntsintsa Baptist Church. Ntsintsa is located between two other churches (Peace and Sympathy). Pray the leaders of these three churches will make this training a priority and will take the training back to their churches.

Sunday, March 16: Palm Sunday:Pray many Christians will understand the significance of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to begin the last week of His life. Pray we will never forget what Christ did for us.

Monday, March The South Roanoke Baptist Association (North Carolina) began a partnership with the Swazi Team to evangelize the northeast section of the country. Several volunteer teams are scheduled to come in 2008. A volunteer coordinator to handle the logistics of these teams is needed. Pray the Lord will provide a missionary couple or missionary to lead this important ministry. Pray the Lord will bless the evangelistic efforts of those who come to the northeast section of Swaziland to help lead many Swazis to the Lord.

Tuesday, March 18:Pray Christians in Swaziland will continue to have the freedom to share their faith with others and enjoy the freedom to worship the Lord.

Wednesday, March 19:PRAYING FOR OUR TROOPS: Pray for the members of our military as they lead, train, work and deploy while defending our nation and safeguarding our freedom. Pray that each one will have the peace of God and will be covered by His powerful protection as they serve. Pray for loved ones who sacrifice by doing without their troop in day-to-day activities of life. Presidential Prayer Team

Thursday, March 20:Each year the members of the Swazi Baptist churches gather in one location to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior. This year these services will take place in the Hhohho region (March 20-23). Pray members of the Swazi Baptist church will experience true revival and spiritually awakening in their hearts.

Friday, March 21: Good Friday
AND CHRIST IS CRUCIFIED ANEW
Not only once, and long ago,
There on Golgotha’s rugged side,
Has Christ the Lord been crucified
Because He loved a lost world so.
But hourly souls, sin-satisfied,
Mock His great love, flout His commands,
And drive nails deep into His hands,
And thrust the spear within His side.
-John Richard Moreland
Pray Christians around the world will prepare to worship their Lord and Savior and say thank for the great price He paid that we may all have eternal life.

Saturday, March 22:Pray the Swazi Baptist churches’ pastors and wives will be models of Christian marriage to their congregations. Pray they will strive to have a marriage pleasing to God.

Sunday, March 23: Easter Day May the wonderful message of Easter will reach the heart of every Swazi in Swaziland. May the power of the resurrection be in their lives.

Monday, March 24:The Southern Section Meeting “To the Edge ‘08” of the CESA (Central, Eastern and Southern Africa) begins today (March 24-29) at the Birchwood Conference Center in Johannesburg.Pray for the approximately 400 missionaries traveling to this meeting. Pray the Lord will have His way in the hearts of the missionaries. Pray the missionaries will have a zeal for His work resulting from the training sessions. Pray the Lord will be glorified through this event.

Tuesday, March 25:One of the barriers to starting a church planting movement with Swazi Baptist churches is the need for land and church buildings instead of beginning new groups on homesteads when space becomes a problem. This idealogy is very difficult for the Swazi pastors to understand. Pray Swazi Baptist pastors and laymen will see the need to start new groups/churches so many Swazis will come to know Jesus as their Savior. Pray this barrier will no longer keep churches or Bible studies from being started.

Wednesday, March 26:
Here is a helpful way to pray for the Swazi people.
S-salvation please pray for the salvation of the people of Swaziland.
W-workers-pray God will provide workers (leaders) to lead Swazi Baptist churches.
A-AIDS-please pray the Swazi people will understand how to stop the spread of AIDS.
Z-Zionism-pray the Swazis will turn from Zionism (African Traditional Religion) to follow Christ.
I-increase-pray the number of Swazi Baptist churches will increase.

Thursday, March 27: CENTRAL, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA (CESA):Pray more creative ministries will be developed to reach the Muslim Indians of the Southeastern Africa Cluster. This people group is less than one percent responsive to the gospel. They need to know the Savior of the world who died for their sins. Pray for wisdom and discernment when seeking to share the gospel with many lost neighbors and friends.

Friday, March 28:April 11-22 a volunteer team from the South Roanoke Association (NC) will work in the northeast section of the country. Ministries will include Chronological Bible Story training, Bible studies, school assemblies and hut-to-hut visitation. Pray for this team as they prepare to come and minister to the Swazi people.

Saturday, March 29:To help alleviate the suffering of many families due to the AIDS pandemic, many Swazi Baptist youth have been trained to teach the need for abstinence in churches and schools. Those who have been selected by their churches have shown some degree of maturity and promise. So, it is extremely disappointing when female trainees have become pregnant and therefore are not able to teach others the need to stay pure and abstain. Pray those who commit to train to teach about abstinence will indeed believe the message and will live lives true to Christian living.

Sunday, March 30:Pray for revival, holy living, clear evangelical message proclaimed and greater unity among Christian leaders. Pray also the stronghold of witchcraft and ancestor worship as well as immorality will be broken within the Swazi churches and nations.

Monday, March 31:A couple of years ago during a National Easter service one of the things done during children’s worship was a virtual prayer walk. Pictures of children with prayer requests were placed in five different locations throughout the tent. Five groups of children walked around the tent reading/praying for the prayer requests. When asked, ”How did you feel about praying for the children?”, one little girl said painful. For many to know there are children without parents due to the AIDS virus, or children without food to eat or clothes to wear, children who are sick and dying, it is painful because it becomes real to them. Pray the children of the Swazi Baptist churches will pray for the needs of Swazi children. Pray the children of Swaziland will know Jesus loves them and knows their every need.

MY RISEN LORD
My risen Lord, I feel Thy strong protection;
I see Thee stand among the graves today;
“I am the Way, and Life, the Resurrection,”
I hear Thee say.
And all the burdens I have carried sadly
Grow light as blossoms on an April day;
My cross becomes a staff, I journey gladly
This Easter Day.
